About

Elena Giacomello, architect, graduated cum laude at the Università Iuav di Venezia, PhD in Building technology at the Università degli Studi di Ferrara with an experimental thesis on the hydrologic performances of green living roofs.

Since 2007 she is teaching-assistant (at IUAV) and since 2011 adjunct professor of Building technology at the first year of the undergraduate degree programme (IUAV).

She is temporary research fellow (IUAV), author of numerous publications on the integration between vegetation and buildings and on construction refurbishment.

She collaborates with Italian and foreign research institutions, is a member of the working group on the Italian standard for membrane roofing, participates in the organization of conferences and seminars on several topics related to building technology.
