Rafael graduated in civil/structural engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2011. His initial career goal was to contribute to the design of the next generation of smart and sustainable high-rise buildings around the world.
After experiencing a period of creative idleness upon graduation, his interests broadened to include a larger range of goals. He is the architect of Junto Groups, a multidisciplinary creativity model group, and co-founder and director of Curitiba Mais Ação, an organization that is part of the Brazilian Network for Sustainable and Just Cities and focuses on developing, monitoring, and impacting urban performance indicators in Curitiba, Brazil.
After working with the built environment as an engineering consultant with Thornton Tomasetti from 2011 to 2019 in Chicago, São Paulo, and Christchurch, he is now an independent engineering consultant in Curitiba…
