Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shaikh is the Deputy Minister for Town Planning at the Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He holds an M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, USA, and a PhD from Imperial College of Science & Technology, University of London, UK. He previously worked at King Saud University, KSA, as Chairman of the Civil Engineering Dept. He was also appointed as Deputy Mayor of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Shaikh was involved in many of the major development and urban planning decisions in Saudi Arabia through his board membership of the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), Saudi Industrial Properties Authority (MODON), and Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA).
