About

Robert Henderson is a mechanical engineer with Arup in San Francisco. Much of Robert’s experience centers around the design of tall buildings in Europe and Asia including The Shard, currently Western Europe’s tallest building, and the Parc 1 Towers and Yongsan Landmark Tower in Seoul. These experiences in the design and construction of tall buildings led to him contributing to the CTBUH Tall Buildings Reference Book, 2013. Robert also worked on the Athens Opera House (the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center) and most recently on a corporate headquarters for technology firm in the San Francisco area.

Robert graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and joined Arup in London in 2006 before transferring to the San Francisco office in 2011. Robert is a strong advocate of Arup’s approach to "total design" — the integration of the…
