Anni Rao was originally born in China but moved to the United States when she was ten-years-old, but she visits China every other year since she has lived in the United States. She lived in Lansing, Michigan until she graduated high school and moved to Chicago in August of 2008 to pursue her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has spent a summer studying abroad in Germany and Denmark in 2011. She is currently in her fifth and last year of her undergraduate career and will graduate in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Architecture with concentrations in Landscape Architecture and Digital Design and a minor in Structural Engineering. She will also begin her Master of Structural Engineering studies in Fall of 2013.

Anni joined the CTBUH staff in February of 2012 and mainly assists the CTBUH in administrative tasks such as processing memberships and publication orders, updating contact information, revising annual reports and graphs, and keeping track of the Council’s working groups. She also worked closely with the Chinese translators in the summer of 2012 as a Chinese translation proofreader for the technical papers submitted for the 2012 Shanghai Congress in September.
