Christian is project architect and business development executive of National Engineering Bureau - NEB (a top architectural & engineering consultant based in Dubai). Born in Manila, he acquired his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Far Eastern University in 2004.
He is the current president of the United Architects of the Philippines Dubai Chapter.
For over 2 decades, the Filipino Registered and Licensed Architects (RLA) and its allied professionals in the UAE has been involved in the nation building through various sectors of the construction industry namely design, project and construction management, interior design, technical support, landscaping, product representation and others services highlighting the highest level of competency, reliability and dedication.
Currently the UAP has over 38,000 members within the Philippines and abroad.
Over 600 licensed architects are based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates alone.
The UAP chartered organization as a whole was established in 1975 to unify all Filipino Architects with aims to continue, maintain and develop the highest possible standard of services that the profession has to offer as the Integrated and Accredited Professional Organization of Architects.
UAP is a recognized institution not only in the local setting but as well as in the international scene. It is the legitimate National Section representing the architects of the Philippines in the UIA (Union of International Architects), founding institute of ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council Asia) and is active in the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) registry of Architects.
CTBUH Board of Trustees has named Christian as the Country (U.A.E.) Representative at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. CTBUH is an international body that serves the field of tall buildings and sustainable urban design. The world’s leading resource for professionals focused on the inception, design, construction and operation of tall buildings and future cities, CTBUH welcomes Vasquez on July 2017 to its growing team, which includes representatives from all over the world.
In the 15 years of his professional career, he has worked on hundreds of projects ranging from retail shops and housing projects to large scale towers and resorts as well as hotels and master-planned developments. Currently, with a team of over 160 architects and designers, he has been working extensively on large-scale development work.
Currently in his plate is the Marina 101 (425m), which will be recognized at the time of building completion (2017) as the “Second Tallest Building in the United Arab Emirates”.
He was also involved in the Flame Tower (350m) of Carlos Ott, Intercontinental Fujairah Hotel and Resort, Crowne Plaza Dubai Marina and Hilton Double Tree JBR.
He has been crowned Future Cities’ Young Architect of the Year in 2016. Christian was presented with the prestigious Crystal Trophy by Flip Flop Media at the annual awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, Dubai Marina.
As the Business Development Executive of NEB, he has been able to lead the firm in winning various awards and responsible in gaining global recognition – placing NEB at the world’s top 100 architectural firm.
Prior to NEB, Christian worked at Bruce Henderson Architects and Nasser Saeed Engineering Consultants, focusing on the design of high-performance, large scale urban projects in the middle east.
Additionally, as a firm believer in sustainable planning and the advantages of urban living, Christian tries to imagine a better-curated more design-focused society where beautiful things and pleasant environments are ubiquitous, even in the densest city centers.
Christian is a born leader known for his candid and witty personality, and well respected by the members of his firm and professional organizations.
Christian is also the first Filipino to serve as one of the board of directors at the American Institute of Architects Middle East Chapter with 500 members to date.
In 2010, Christian founded Architect Gives Back, a charity which helps to send less fortunate children to school in his home country, Philippines. What a better way to establish a better future than to build a solid foundation through proper education. Right now, the charity group gave birth to another young passionate group of future architects, the Architecture Students Gives Back (chapters from all the architectural colleges and universities throughout the Philippines).
