Dongzhu Chu is the deputy dean and Ph.D. supervisor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University. Chu was once visiting scholar in the University of Toronto and Delft University of Technology, and worked at Claus en Kaan in Rotterdam and KPMB in Toronto. Chu is also the member of the Academic Committee of Underground Space of Architectural Society of China, the Architectural Theory and Innovation Group of the Architect’s Branch of Architectural Society of China, Academic Committee of Architectural Review of Architectural Society of China, Committee of Landscape Architecture of Chinese Society for Urban Studies, and Senior Member of Architectural Society of China. Chu has published five academic monographs and more than fifty academic papers including Integrated Mechanism of Generation- Evaluation in Sustainable Building Design Process (2015), Enigmatic Code of the Netherlands: Cities Architecture and Design through an Architect’s Vision (2012), Starting Design on Architecture (2011) and etc. Chu was awarded Young Architects Award of China in 2003. Chu is now engaged in the research, education and design in the field of sustainable design, delicacy urban design, integration of architecture and comprehensive traffic, and urban design for important locations.
