About

Ellen van Loon joined OMA in 1998 and became partner in 2002. Her recent projects include two newly completed buildings in the Netherlands: the G-Star RAW Headquarters in Amsterdam (2014), and De Rotterdam, a large mixed-use set of towers next to the Erasmus Bridge (2013).

Van Loon has overseen a number of OMA’s most prominent projects, including New Court, the Rothschild Bank headquarters in London (2011); exterior and interior design for Maggie's Centre near Glasgow (2011); and the Prada Transformer, a rotating pavilion in Seoul (2009). She has led several award-winning designs including Casa da Musica in Porto (2005), which won the 2007 RIBA Award, and the Dutch Embassy in Berlin (2003), winner of the European Union Mies van der Rohe award.
