Emily Torem has been with the Council since April of 2018 and serves as a Staff Writer, where she edits and inputs to publications, newsletters, Website pages, academic writing and the Global News feed. She recently co-authored the Façade Access & Maintenance for High-Rise Buildings Technical Guide.

Torem holds a degree in journalism from DePaul University and studied abroad in London, where she completed media internships at both Intersection Magazine and arts non-profit Epic Arts. She has honed her interest in sustainable urban development with her background in writing and research, in order to write extensively on architecture, design and sustainable urban habitats for both national and local publications. Her work has appeared at moss Design, Green Building & Design, Slow Food USA, Slow Food Chicago, Time Out Chicago, NewCity, Edible Manhattan, Juke Magazine and The Evening Standard.

Two New CTBUH Technical Guides Released

The CTBUH has released two new Technical Guides, focused on Façade Access and Maintenance and Skyspaces in Tall Buildings.
