Erleen Hatfield is a structural engineer and Partner of Buro Happold. She has over 20 years of experience in the structural design of a wide range of complex projects including high rise, commercial, mixed use and residential. She is responsible for leading the design of complex projects through her in-depth knowledge of design, constructability, sustainability and the holistic integration of multiple disciplines. She is a LEED accredited professional for New Construction, a professional engineer and licensed architect. She sits on numerous national industry committees including the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee on the Design of Steel Buildings, the executive board of the Applied Technology Council and is a trustee of the Beverly Willis Foundation. She is the co-chair of the American Institute of Architects New York City Technology Committee, sits on the New York City Department of Buildings Code Review Technical Committee, and is a past director of the Structural Engineers Association of New York. In addition, she is a member of the faculty at Yale University since 2003, teaching graduate courses in the school of architecture and gives regular lectures at Pratt University. She is a registered professional engineer and architect in the state of New York and is a licensed engineer in multiple states. Some of her notable projects include The Tower at PNC a 33 story commercial office tower in Pittsburgh, PA with natural ventilation, planned to be the most sustainable building in the world, the 53 story New York Times Building in New York, World Trade Center Memorial Museum, the Abu Dhabi Media Zone, two 600'+ towers in Canada and multiple parcels in King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh. Many of her award winning projects have been published both domestically and internationally.
