Hadi Moghadasi Faridani is a researcher for CTBUH office in Venice at the IAUV University of Venice, Italy.

He is involved in the research on “A study on the Damping Technologies available for Tall Buildings: Comfort and Safety” sponsored by Bouygues Construction.

He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil engineering and a Master of Science degree in Structural engineering. His master thesis topic was about the modification of hanger systems in suspension footbridges to enhance their structural performance. Also, Hadi obtained a PhD in Structural engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2015, with a dissertation entitled “Replacement Beam Methods for the Analysis of Tall Building Structural Systems.” The research focus was on the development of simplified continuum-based models (replacement beams) for the analysis and preliminary design of high-rise building structural systems, such as coupled shear walls. Moreover, the dynamic assessment of such systems including supplementary damping systems (mainly viscous and viscoelastic dampers) using the replacement beam approach was a main scope of his research work.

Since April 2016, he has been involved as a part-time research assistant in the project sponsored by Bouygues on tall buildings and damping devices. Meanwhile, in 2016 he was a co-supervisor of some master theses and a teaching assistant of bachelor/master courses at Politecnico di Milano. In June 2017, Hadi joined as a full-time research assistant for the CTBUH research team at the IAUV University of Venice.

He is the author of several publications in international journals and conferences. He was also a reviewer in several international journals such as “The Structural Design of Tall and Special Buildings”.
