About

James L. Cutler, FAIA is a registered architect in Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Tennessee, Montana, Wyoming, Rhode Island and North Carolina. He has a Master of Architecture degree from the Louis I. Kahn Studio, and Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Arts degrees from University of Pennsylvania.

Jim has lived on Bainbridge Island, Washington since 1974 and is a founding member of the Bainbridge Island Land Trust, a non-profit organization which acquires interests in land having significant conservation values such as scenic vistas, wetlands, wildlife corridors and protection of animal habitat.

Jim often serves as a juror for regional and national Design competitions and has held teaching positions at the University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania, University of Oregon, Dartmouth, Harvard University Graduate School of Design, University of California-Berkeley, University of…
