John Gering is an acknowledged expert in the master planning, design and management of largescale, highly technical projects for a number of sectors, including governmental, broadcast media, corporate, institutional, educational, and large-scale historical renovation projects. He has more than 30 years of experience. His portfolio includes projects for the World Financial Center, Disney/ESPN, the General Services Administration (Brooklyn Federal Courthouse), Sultan City (Saudi Arabia), Hilton Hotels, and all projects undertaken by HLW for the United Nation’s Capital Master Plan in New York City.

John’s strength is in providing the vision for, and the coordination of, the numerous professionals and consultants required for such specialized assignments. As a Managing Partner and a member of the Leadership Team at HLW, his expertise in project management contributes to his role in directing a number of the firm’s offices. John is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Television Program Executives. Work completed under his direction has been featured in Interior Design magazine, Building Design & Construction, Contract Magazine, Broadcast Engineering, Broadcasting & Cable, Architectural Record and The New York Times. John is a registered architect and NCARB certified.
