About

Katharina Holzapfel studied interior architecture at the Technical University Rosenheim, qualifying in 2004 with honors. In 2005 she received the Illinois Institute of Technology Graduate Tuition Scholarship and moved to Chicago, where she obtained a Master of Architecture. She was twice nominated for the Schiff Foundation Fellowship, Art Institute of Chicago and once for the Chicago Award in Architecture, AIA Chicago.

After her graduation with a first class architectural degree she became active in the Council as of spring 2007 as she was working on publications for the CTBUH 2007 Awards Dinner, the CTBUH Journal, the CTBUH Info Archive and Membership support. She was also the creative force behind all the publications produced for the CTBUH 2009 Chicago Conference and the CTBUH 8th World Congress in Dubai, such as the 875-page congress proceedings, the pocket guide, and the post congress review.
