A native of Scotland, Russell Gilchrist has worked largely in the USA, UK and Asia, on projects worldwide. He became the Design Director for Gensler in Shanghai after transferring from the Beijing office in the same role. He is now a Principal based in Chicago. Prior to his current role he was a Director at AS+GG (Chicago) and Technical Director/Chicago Practice Leader at SOM (Chicago), Senior Associate at Richard Rogers Partnership (London) and Senior Designer at Foster + Partners (London).
