About Payam Bahrami

Dr. Payam Bahrami is Vice President at Optim Design Inc., an architectural and engineering consulting firm. He specializes in the architectural design and research with focus on sustainability and building technology. He has been in professional architectural practice and research since 2001.

Prior to this, he worked as a Research Manager at Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and a Senior Research Associate at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), where he managed grant proposals, coordinated research teams, and led CTBUH research division from 2011 to 2014. He was also served as a research and administrative assistant to the PhD Program, College of Architecture at IIT, from 2007 to 2011.

Dr. Bahrami received his Ph.D. in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, 2011 and his Master in Architectural Engineering from Azad University in Iran, 2001. His…

About Payam Bahrami

Dr. Payam Bahrami is Vice President at Optim Design Inc., an architectural and engineering consulting firm. He specializes in the architectural design and research with focus on sustainability and building technology. He has been in professional architectural practice and research since 2001.

Prior to this, he worked as a Research Manager at Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and a Senior Research Associate at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), where he managed grant proposals, coordinated research teams, and led CTBUH research division from 2011 to 2014. He was also served as a research and administrative assistant to the PhD Program, College of Architecture at IIT, from 2007 to 2011.

Dr. Bahrami received his Ph.D. in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, 2011 and his Master in Architectural Engineering from Azad University in Iran, 2001. His professional background includes working as registered architect in practice and project manager.

He is recipient of several prestigious awards and grants, including the Research Grant from Wagner Institute for Sustainable Energy Research (WISER), 2010 Architectural Research Center Consortium Award - ARCC/King Medal for Excellence in Architectural and Environmental Design Research, and a NASA Grant from NASA Ames Research Center. He has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator for numerous funded research projects including two research grants from Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF).

Dr. Bahrami is a member of professional organizations such as Sigma XI, the Scientific Research Society, American Institute of Architects (AIA), and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

His last book entitled “Green Wall in High-rise Building” was released by CTBUH and Image Publishing Group in November 2014.
