Derek So joined Hip Hing Construction in 2015 as an Executive Director. He graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1986 with an Associateship in Civil and Structural Engineering and qualified as a Chartered Structural Engineer in 1990. Derek has over 35 years’ experience in civil engineering and building construction in Hong Kong, India, and the Middle East. Prior to joining Hip Hing, he worked at Gammon Construction and Ove Arup & Partners.

Mr. So actively promotes the use of innovative construction technology and the use of BIM and developed BIM Process and culture since he worked in Arup, Gammon, and Hip Hing. He is currently the committee member of Productivity of CIC and Industrial Advisory Board member of Hong Kong Centre of Construction Robotics
