Ervin Cui, PhD, PE, is a registered Fire Protection Professional Engineer in the States of Illinois, California and Michigan. He received his B.S. degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and his Ph.D. degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Cui is a member of the Asia-Oceania Association for Fire Science and Technology (AOAFST), NFPA, SFPE; and a past member of NFPA 130 Technical Committee on “Fixed Guideway and Passenger Rail Systems.” He is a visiting research professor in Fire Science Lab in USTC.
Dr. Cui is an experienced fire protection engineer in fire protection, life safety, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling, analysis of fire and emergency ventilation systems, and egress modeling.
