Haiyan Qu has served as Steel Chief Engineer or Deputy Chief Engineer in Tianjin Goldin Finance 117 tower (597 meters), Beijing Poly International Plaza (complex oblique lattice structure), China Zun (528 meters), in which he he has gained rich experience of tall building steel structure construction.

Qu has participated and been in charge of 21 national and company-level research projects, such as “Key Modernized Construction Technique of Steel – Concrete Composite Structure” which was included in the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan Technology Support Program, the residual stress testing and abatement, and research and development of construction welding robot. He has so far published 13 professional papers, two published papers included in SCI, two papers published in EI and nine core theses.
