Joanna Zhang, PE, SE, LEEP AP, is an Associate with SOM. She has been involved in 27 projects in 18 different cities all around the world, including offices, residences, hotels, an embassy, a courthouse, a school, a theater and a conference center. She has been the project engineer responsible for structural design and analysis of new buildings, evaluation and retrofits of existing buildings, and expert panel reviews of tall and complex code-exceeding structures. Joanna Zhang studied civil engineer and architecture as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, and then studied structural engineering as a graduate student also at UC Berkeley.
