Kirk Ellison is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer wdith Arup. He has experience on a wide variety of projects in the built environment that tend to require special emphasis on seismic soil-structure-interaction and/or structure-soil-structure-interaction analysis. Kirk's tall buildings experience includes the ~1000-foot-high Salesforce Tower and ~800-foot-high 181 Fremont Tower projects in San Francisco, both of which involved very deep foundations extending more than 200 feet below grade. Kirk received his PhD from the University of Cambridge and was recently named the 2018 Outstanding Younger Civil Engineer by the San Francisco Section of the American Society of CIvil Engineers.
