A leading Urban Designer and Planner, Michael returned to Architectus in July 2011 after 4 years secondment with the City of Sydney Council. He led the City Strategy and Design Division at the City of Sydney from 2007 - 2011, and was responsible for six business units in Council, including: City Plan Development, City Design, City Sustainability, City Transport, City Renewal, and City Strategy / Economic Development.
Prior to joining the City of Sydney Michael was Urban Design and Planning Director at Architectus from 1985 - 2007. Michael has provided expert testimony in planning and urban design issues for over 50 cases before the NSW Land and Environment Court, including Michael Harrison Urban Design and Planning Director being appointed as a Court Expert for several projects.
