Noah W. Burwell is an Associate with Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong. Noah joined Arup in 2011 and has worked on complex building envelope projects both in Hong Kong and throughout East Asia from concept through construction. Noah’s expertise has been developed over a wide variety of scales and project types including museums, airports, and mixed-use developments.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Noah lived in New York City where he was involved in the façade design of large scale institutional projects both in the USA and Singapore. Some of Noah’s notable projects since joining Arup include the Jockey Club Innovation Tower with Zaha Hadid Architects, Museum Plus with Herzog & de Meuron, and Terminal 3 at Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei with Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. Noah is currently working on a confidential tall building project in South East Asia which exceeds 400 meters in height.

Noah graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Architecture from Kent State University where he also led graduate design-build studios. Noah has served as a guest critic for the Hong Kong University Graduate School of Architecture and has lectured at the City University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He serves as a committee member for the Arup Graduate Induction, which welcomes young graduates starting their career at Arup.

Noah is a Member of the Society of Façade Engineering as well as the New York City Chapter of the Building Enclosure Council.

Noah currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife Diane and dog Spoon. He dreams of working on the world’s next generation of megatall buildings.
